Puseh Babahan temple located in the village Babahan, Penebel district, Tabanan regency of Bali Province, was to save the ancient relics from the prehistoric and classical times. One of these relics is Linga Yoni which until now still sacred presence.

Linga word comes from Sanskrit which means “sign or the equivalent phallus male sex”. In the book Iconographic dictionary of the Indian religion Hinduism – Buddhism – Jainism explained that the Linga (Melayu), among others means a symbol or a symbol of male sex.

In South and Central India worship of Linga very popular existence. In fact there is one particular sect that worships the Linga there. They named themselves after Linggayat sect. Special characteristics of the adherents of this sect is that they wear a necklace with some fruit garnish Linga. Just as with the Christians who wore a necklace with a crucifix.

Linga understood according to the Hindu symbol of fertility known as exhibited by the human civilization in the Indus valley. This belief had banned by the Indo Aryans, but no longer comes back and starts associated with the god Shiva. Linga and can also mean as a manifestation of Siva in the form of a phallus.

Linga usually placed on top of a vulva (yoni). Yoni symbol here means a woman’s genitals, as a symbol of female element. Yoni in the form of stone rings were found in the Indus valley civilization. Yoni is also revered by a cult called the Sakta cult. Yoni is considered as an element of magic and are often incorporated in the composition of Linga.

Phallus is not only common in India. But there are also many Khmer in the region (Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam). King there at that time called Mahendrawarman had left several inscriptions to commemorate the founding of contents several Linga with some titles (of which are Sambhu, Triyambhaka and Tibhuwanecwara). In various inscriptions that there are some clues, that founded the Linga has been closely associated with the conquest of a particular area.

While in Indonesia, Linga oldest ever known comes from inscriptions Canggal, which comes from pages on the mountain enshrinement Wukir in Sleman district. From the inscription, written in 732 AD is known that the religion of King Sanjaya has established a Shiva Linga on the hill, and made possible the building Linga temple is still there until the remains on the mountain Wukir.

In Bali itself, the existence of very many Linga Yoni found. This gives an indication that in the past in Bali ever there was a sect called Pasupati as one of the streams in the Hindu religion.
Linga Yoni found in Pura Puseh Babahan, Bali there are three types of forms. That is two in one mat Linga is sometimes called an independent Linga and a Linga Yoni.
Linga Yoni also believed to be a source of fertility. These faiths sometimes pours water on the Linga and then the water that flows through the yoni, and then poured accommodated in rice plants or other plants.

In addition to this, Linga Yoni findings indicate that in the village Babahan, Penebel is an ancient village. The findings also indicate that these ancient sites is an archaeological relic from prehistoric times (the perundagian) and continues the classical period and even still persists today.
